Bloody Mouse
My brothers like snakes. We have two snakes, actually. my older younger brother kyle has had pet snakes since he was about nick's age (my other brother, the 6 year old who is a genius). Well, i think right now we have like two lizards and one snake. or maybe its two snakes. actually, yes, i think it's two snakes now because a friend of my brother's gave us another one. yay. don't get me wrong, i'm not afraid of snakes by any means. i enjoy wrapping it around my neck and letting its cool skin crawl against my neck. it feels really cool. even though they are constrictors, they don't constrict humans. they aren't stupid animals, they know htey can't take a human being. especially this one.
so anyway, the older snake eats live mice. those little white ones with the looong tails. today my little brother nick goes to drop the mouse in the snakes cage for his weekly meal and he accidentally dropped the cage top onto the mouse's tail. the tail started bleeding like it had hit a freakin artery or something. it was actually quite disgusing- this long tail being shaken back and forth, back and forth, leaving lines of blood on the inside walls of the glass cage. to make the situation even worse, the snake decided that it wasn't particularly hungry today, and it refused to eat the bleeding mouse. you would htink the blood would have made it more hungry, but no. stupid fucking picky snake. my sister grace (8), being the alarmist that she is, started screaming about the freaking mouse like it was being crucified or something. so nicky picked it up by it's bloody tail, and immediately responded to my mother's loud and obnoxious requests to "get that thing out of here! get that thing out of here! throw it in the woods!"
he brought it to the front porch and set it down on the cement. it crawled under a pile of wood. i picked it up by it's tail (above the bloody part) and my stepbrother and i put it in a little container so it could be saved until we decided what we were going to do with it. i don't even konw what they ended up doing with it at this point, nor do i care all that much.
